The air coming out of a compressor reaches 100% humidity and contains oil and solid particles. Together, they form an abrasive, often acidic, and oily sludge. When air is not conditioned, this muddy mixture enters your compressed air system, causing corrosion in the pipeline, damaging pneumatic tools, and reducing the quality of the final products. Atlas Copco allows you to harness superior quality in your compressed air system with a wide range of aftercoolers, drains, and condensate conditioning solutions.

HD and TD Condensate Drains

All Atlas Copco compressors are equipped with a condensate drain. This drain cools the air, converting 70% of the humidity into water, which is then immediately discharged. However, for production facilities with very high ambient temperatures, additional cooling options may be required. Atlas Copco's independent condensate drains prevent excessive humidity from entering your compressed air system.

Atlas Copco's air and water-cooled condensate drains provide additional moisture management options for facilities with very high ambient temperatures. These devices, equipped with all necessary components, have a compact design, are easy to install, and can be easily disassembled for cleaning.

HD and TD condensate drains offer high cooling efficiency and low energy consumption with minimal pressure drop. Insignificant drops in pressure occurring with compression mean no loss of production power. Since the compressor does not generate extra demand, additional energy or maintenance costs are eliminated.

  • HD water-cooled condensate drains use a group of stainless steel pipes to cool the air.
  • TD air-cooled condensate drains feature an aluminum block cooling element.

By combining high cooling efficiency with low energy consumption, most of your air is maintained at a temperature suitable for various types of air dryers.

WSD, EWD, and WD Water Separators and Drains

As compressed air moves through the air system, it cools, causing the remaining humidity in the compressed air to turn into water. Due to the potential for water to cause corrosion and damage, drains need to be installed throughout your piping system. Atlas Copco offers various automatic or electronic drains that keep your condensate drains, dryers, air receivers, and other equipment operating under optimal conditions.

Atlas Copco's WSD products prevent condensate accumulation in your air system. The water separator is provided as standard equipment with Atlas Copco condensate drains and can be mounted at any point in your system. These separators, utilizing cyclone technology made entirely of stainless steel, remove aerosols from the water, protecting system components like dryers and filters. These devices, which require no maintenance and contain no moving parts, come with automatic or manual drains.

The WD 80 drain valve provides fully automatic draining of water that accumulates at the lowest point of a compressed air system (e.g., at the base of a receiver or cyclone separator). Its patented design minimizes maintenance requirements.

The EWD electronic drain series provides safe, reliable, and efficient condensate drainage. The intelligent drain function monitors condensate formation and discharges liquid only when necessary, preventing compressed air loss.
